Consulting, Rehearsals and Performance Agreements
Alice Freeman offers a one-hour free consultation at her studio to go over musical selections and the order of service.
If personal consulting together in Laramie is not convenient she also offers video consulting sessions using Skype on the Internet. (Skype is a free software application that allows users to make free voice calls over the Internet to other people on Skype for as long as you like and to wherever you like. If you have questions about whether Skype will run on your computer, please read the specifications in this article.)
Rehearsals are required if Alice is asked to accompany singers or other musicians chosen by the bride. However, she charges an additional fee to attend rehearsals and this can easily double the prices charged for a wedding.
You can save yourself money with advanced planning by phone or e-mail. Choosing music can be done consultations using Skype or in person. You can also save money by carefully planning the specifics of your ceremony with your celebrant before you meet with your musician, and by not expecting her to play a harp at the actual wedding rehearsal. Be sure your wedding coordinator or a specific person has been identified who will give Alice starting cues the day of the wedding and convey any last minute changes of plans.
To prevent misunderstandings and communication problems, Alice prefers to have a signed Performance Agreement with you. This document requires a 50% down-payment when signed to hold the date with the remaining amount due 30 days before the event. If you do not have enough information yet to completely fill out the Performance Agreement, but you want Alice to save a date for your wedding, cocktail hour, or reception, you can send her the Save the Date form with your 50% deposit. Alice has never canceled an engagement, but her Terms of Service describes how this situation would be handled if necessary.
