Healing Musicians' Lifelong Learning Group

The Class of 2008 alumni of the International Healing Musician's Program have formed an informal association called the Healing Musicians' Lifelong Learning Group. Anyone interested in discussing the use of music in healing is welcome to join.

  • Our meetings are conference calls using Skype. Skype is a software application that allows users to make free voice calls over the Internet to other people on Skype for as long as you like and to wherever you like. If you have questions about whether Skype will run on your computer, please read the specifications in this article.
  • We meet once a month for approximately 90 minutes, usually on the second Friday at 4:30 pm Pacific Time (standard or daylight savings time). Since our members range in location from western Australia to the US east coast, our announcements advertise the date as Friday/Saturday.
  • Sessions usually include a discussion of a predetermined topic and playing harp music for each other.
We are using these pages to share music and other information that might be useful in our work and interests as healing musicians.

Please email Alice Freeman if you are interested in joining any of our Skype Conferences.

Healing Musician Advertising

We are often challenged as new graduates of a healing musician training program in figuring out how to tell people and institutions about our services. Recent graduates share samples of their advertising materials here. If you have examples you would like to add, please contact Alice Freeman.

Healing Musician Presentations

Healing Musicians are frequently asked to make presentations to various audiences about their services. These might include staff of a health care facility, health care volunteers or civic clubs who are interested in raising money to support palliative care organizations. Musicians also should look for opportunities to give interviews to the local media. Members of the Healing Musician Lifelong Learning Group are sharing outlines, handouts and experiences they have used for these types of presentations. See also the Healing Musician Lifelong Learning Group Meeting notes for October 9/10, 2009 when this topic was discussed.

Testimonials

Thank you so much for the beautiful harp music you provided at our wedding on 11/11/11! Your music was lovely and a very special addition to our private ceremony. And, as a bonus, you were wonderful to work with. May the Lord bless and guide you. BS and LS, Casper Wyoming
